In the glass, the wines of Hervé Villemade are a clear expression of the less obvious Loire. The whites, from Cheverny to Cour-Cheverny based on the rare indigenous Romorantin, impress with their tension, aromatic precision, and crystalline drinkability, where fruit and freshness intertwine without ever being excessive. The reds, often based on Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Côt (that is Malbec), are subtle, juicy, played more on elegance than on power. They are "loyal" wines, as Hervé likes to say: honest, lively, capable of telling their place of origin and providing immediate but never trivial pleasure.
